Our lives are full of events and occasions. We steal few
minutes from our busy schedule to spend time in family get together, wedding,
birthday party, anniversaries and so on. Recollecting memories from the past,
sharing tantrums of day to day lives all are parts of family events. Photographs
incarnate those forgone memories in front of us through decades.
The most precious event among all is a Wedding. Holy ritual
of marriage unites not only two people but also two entire families. When it
comes to Bengali wedding, one may perceive a plethora of sacred rituals and
customs. Bengali weddings include such rituals and ceremonies that can span for
several days. A quintessential Bengali wedding is divided in four parts – the
haldi ceremony of bride, haldi ceremony of groom, “Beeye” or the marriage and
“Bou Bhaat” or reception. Photographers preserve all the four part without
disrupting the ethnicity in their reels.
Few pre wedding rituals are also there which are of much
importance. Bengali wedding photography in
Kolkata engages themselves in the ceremonial work from pre wedding to
receptions. On an auspicious day the groom side’s elders bless the bride and
vice versa, this celebration is called ashirbaad. Such celebration like the
previous one as Gaye holud, and dodhimongol all are pre wedding celebrations.
According to an anonymous writer – the earth is an art;
photographers are the observers or witness. A wedding photographer observes the
family, their behaviour and their requirements or desires about their
son’s/daughter’s marriage. Not only have they captured moments they are the
creator of memories. Bengali wedding photography in Kolkata has a camera in
pocket and pictures now instantly accessible and shareable. One of the first
qualities of the photographs is it depicts a viewer’s eye. How they place
various objects in the photographic frame determines the composition and works
tremendously toward creating a feeling greater than the object would convey in
the real world. A wedding photographer engraves the precious moments of a
wedding with the camera.
